Bushfire Mental Health Project

Wellbeing SA is working in partnership with government, non-government and philanthropic organisations through a four year Bushfire mental health project. The project is strengthening community mental health and wellbeing in Kangaroo Island, Adelaide Hills and Yorketown and surrounding areas following the 2019/2020 summer bushfires that impacted these communities.

In addition, we are supporting local communities by funding community led projects focused on social connection, resilience and mental wellbeing. These projects are delivered by local groups, volunteer organisations, charities, schools and councils.

Communities are also co-designing mental health and wellbeing supports that are being delivered through co-investment with partner organisations.

We know recovery can take years and the Bushfire Mental Health Project is focused on medium to long term supports.

Find out more about how the project is progressing in each of the impacted communities, as well as information about grants and other project activities.
