SA's Mental Health Awareness Month is joining with national events in 2021 to provide opportunities to have conversations with your friends, family and community about mental health.

It’s also a great time to learn about self-care, community wellbeing and available support services. Check out our tips, resources and the Festival of Now.

  • Learn more about Mental Health Month

    Mental Health Month falls in October, in alignment with World Mental Health Day on Friday October 10. The theme “We All Have A Role To Play” speaks to us all collectively, supporting each other, addressing stigma, and promoting wellbeing.
  • Celebrating our stories at the Festival of Now

    Join us at the Festival of Now for live music and performance, free food, arts and crafts, games, animals, face painting, a chill-out zone, mental health and wellbeing information stalls and more.

3 ways to nurture your mental wellbeing

  • Eating well

    Eating well provides us with the essential energy and nutrients we need each day, and reduces the risk of developing serious health conditions.
  • Tips for being active

    Doing any physical activity is better than doing none. If you currently do no physical activity, start with a 10 minute walk, and gradually build up to the recommended amount. Discover some tips to get moving.
  • Three more simple and quick ways to relax and de-stress anywhere, anytime

    As we head towards the end of the year, it’s a great time to slow down, refresh and recharge. Taking a break from daily tasks and routine is a great way to improve your mood and help clear your mind.
