Wellbeing Index for South Australia

The Wellbeing Index for South Australia enables Wellbeing SA to monitor indicators of physical, mental, social/community and Aboriginal cultural wellbeing outcomes for South Australians over time.

The Index is the first of its kind for South Australia, and it delivers on a priority action of our Strategic Plan.

The Wellbeing Index aims to monitor the collaborative and collective impact from all partners on wellbeing outcomes and will be updated annually.

The first version of the Wellbeing Index is launching in June 2022. The indicators included in the Index have been informed by a scan of existing indices of health or wellbeing both internationally and across Australia. It has been developed by Wellbeing SA with expertise from external stakeholders including South Australian government departments, universities and non-government organisations.

The development of additional indicators for Aboriginal Cultural Wellbeing will occur in 2022-23 in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
